This issue has now been resolved:
Microsoft has reported users in the UK may be having issues using various Microsoft365 services.

User impact: Users in the United Kingdom may have been unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services or features.
More info: Impacted services included, but were not limited to:
– SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business
– Microsoft Teams
– Exchange Online
– Microsoft Defender
Final status: We’ve identified that Azure Front Door (AFD) routing within the UK region experienced an issue. Whilst we were reviewing service diagnostics, telemetry indicated that the issue had self-recovered. After a period of extended monitoring, we’ve confirmed that the issue is resolved. We continue to investigate the underlying issue and will provide further details within the Post Incident Report (PIR).
Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users located in the United Kingdom.

Preliminary root cause: An issue with Azure Front Door (AFD) routing within the UK region resulted in impact. We’ll provide more details within the PIR.
– We’re investigating AFD routing telemetry and recent changes to identify the underlying cause of impact.
We’ll publish a post-incident report within five business days.
